Zelda Spellman and the double standard
In the series "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina", the character of Zelda Spellman calls attention, Zelda is one of
the two aunts who care for Sabrina and she is a faithful follower of the Church
of the Night and the Dark Lord, she is also a very wise and talented witch.
His character from the first chapter I saw it seemed
very interesting, with the passing of the chapters are becoming more and more
personality.
I believe that Zelda is a character with a double
moral, who on the one hand wants to overthrow father Blackwood as High Priest
of the Church of the Night but on the other she shows himself totally faithful
to the Dark Lord.
She, by marrying Father Blackwood, is really looking
to get him out of his high office, uses it at his convenience. It is here that demonstrates the sexism that exists,
where a man who has a greater position is only used to obtain power, while
another is revered.
Another situation where sexism is demonstrated is when
Father Blackwood's first wife has twins (A boy and a girl), childbirth where
Zelda is a midwife, Where Zelda saw that one of the twins was a girl, steals it
for fear of being killed by being a woman not worthy of the lineage Blackwood. Putting
aside from everything for a girl, demonstrating this widespread belief that all
women have the role of mothers.
