An Empowered Woman And Vampires
A series of the nineties can get to have many
stereotypical and be one more of the lot. But this is not the case of Buffy the
Vampire Slayer. This series came to break barriers, presenting a female
protagonist and empowered. This series managed to break moulds for his feminist
discourse and how he represented adolescent problems.
Its protagonist marked a before and after for the
heroines who came later. The series goes from vampires, demons and other malicious
beings and about those who fight against them. Buffy is a high school student
who is entrusted to fight against the forces of evil, work for which he counted
with the help of several friends.
This series is my favorite because I like the way they
were drawn female roles. The protagonist is an independent woman, able to plant
face to the men, sure of itself and courageous at the time of facing their
sexual and sentimental relationships. Also, are Willow and Tara, who maintained
a homosexual relationship, the first views on television.
The series is still in people’s minds
and endorsed, that even, academic studies referring to this were created,
called Buffy Studies.
